sometimes, when I open a pdf with Preview, it (only( displays blank pages (see attached fig - the left half). This also happens if I leave the pdfs open (they are ok at this point), put the Mac to sleep, and turn it on again. It does not happen always, but frequently!
Now, this is not a problem of the pdf itself since, if I close an open again, or if I move it elsewhere, it (most of the time) displays correctly (see attached fig - the right half).
==> Also, it is not a problem of the MacOS version, since, while I am now using Ventura, I had this problem also in previous versions.
==> Additionally, it is also not a problem of the "machine" itself since this happens on different computers (this one being only a couple of weeks old!).
While I now I can use Adobe (and I do this) or I can just simply open/close/open/close. the files again, this is really annoying. Besides, I like Preview because, usually it is much faster than Adobe (I deal with a lot of pdf files at the same time. )
Any fix for this?
Thank you in advance.

Me too (187) Me too Me too (187) Me too ReplyPreview app not responding after searching and clicking back into the text (after macOS 11.3?) Hey, since the update on macOS 11.3 (I'm not completely sure if it started immediately after the update), I'm having troubles with the Preview app. Machine: base (8/256) Macbook Air M1, MacOS version 11.3 Steps to reproduce: 1) Open any PDF with text in Preview - any file size works, I have reproduced it on 0.8, 1.2 and 4 MB files 2) Search for any term you KNOW the document contains - so you can see search results in the left bar - Preview should jump on the first search result and show other results in the left bar, pretty normal stuff 3) after that, click ANYWHERE in the document text - like you would like to change focus of the window back to document - like you would like to select some word with your mouse to copy that word 4) Preview immediately freezes and mouse goes to spinning beachball a split second after the click in step 3 5) I have tried to "wait it out", but the beachball can spin even hours, I don't think it can ever stop and go back to normal Current (bad) solution: Option+Command+Esc to ForceQuit Preview app and start it again (and don't use search function) ActivityMonitor: CPU: Memory: Energy: Overal CPU usage is ok (91 % idle) and also overall Memory is also ok (6GB used out of 8GB). So far I have tried: I deleted all files associated with Preview from ~/Library/Containers and restarted Mac (didn't help): Does anybody have any suggestions? I really don't want to install any third-party PDF readers. Thanks, Muzosh.
Preview Corrupting Existing PDF Hi, Over the past couple of days I have found after adding some PDF pages to an existing PDF document using Preview and saving, when I open the revised document in Adobe all the pages are blank except for the pages I have added. The document opens OK in Safari and preview but not in Adobe Reader. I say the last couple of days because everything worked fine before hand. Paul iMac using Catalina OS 10.15.7
PDF Viewer stopped working For some reason my Adobe PDF viewer stopped opening PDF files. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Adobe application but that didn't help. Any answers appreciated ! M1 MacBook Pro (14")
